Credit Transfer

You don’€™t ever have to worry about running out of credit. With the Credit Rescue functionality, one can transfer or request credit from any other redtouch client. To use this service all you need to do is follow a USSD code on your mobile and credit will automatically be transferred to your account.

Transfer Credit

  • *131*<amount to transfer>*<recipient MSISDN>#
    EX. *131*2*98110100#

USSD Messages Received

  1. Upon transferring credit, the donor receives a USSD message with the below:
    €˜You have transferred <Transfer Amount> to <Donor MSISDN>. Your new credit is: <current credit> 
  2. If the credit being transferred is more than the actual credit, donor receives a USSD message with:
    €˜The Transfer Amount exceeds the remaining credit€™
  3. If the credit being transferred exceeds allowed limit, donor receives a USSD message with the below:
    €˜The Transfer Amount exceeds the maximum amount allowed of <maximum amount>€™
  4. If credit being transferred to an MSISDN not from redtouch fone, donor receives the following USSD message: €˜The mobile number must be subscribed to redtouch fone€™
  5. If credit is being transferred to the self MSISDN, donor receives the following USSD message:
    Both numbers are the same€

Request Credit Transfer

  • *130*< amount>*<donor MSISDN>#
    EX. *130*1*98110100#

USSD Messages Received

  1. Upon requesting transfer, the requester receives the following USSD message:
    €˜Successfully sent the request to 981xxxxx™
  2. When request for credit transfer is initiated to the donor, the donor receives the following USSD:
    €˜Please top me up, use *131*<The amount in whole Euros>*<recipients MSISDN># to top me up€™
  3. If request is sent to a non redtouch fone MSISDN, the requester receives the following USSD message:
    €˜The mobile number must be subscribed to redtouch fone.€™
  • NOTERequest for credit transfer and credit transfer are not dependent on each other. Donor can decide to transfer credit without a request, and if request is sent, the donor can decide not to transfer credit or to transfer as much credit they wish.
